FURNANCE BRAZING

FURNANCE BRAZING

Furnace brazing is primarily used for large batch production runs, brazing structures made up of many bonds and high temperature brazing of metals which are slow to reduce. It predominantly takes place in furnaces with reducing, inert or vacuum conditions. Reducing gasses replace the traditional fluxes. Protective exothermic gasses obtained directly in the furnace from partial combustion of flammable gasses such as natural, propane, butane are the cheapest to manufacture, however they are mainly suited for brazing non-alloy, low-alloy steel and copper. The main advantages of furnace brazing include:

  • uniform heating
  • very high process repeatability
  • precise brazing parameter control
  • high aesthetics and quality of bonds
  • large efficiency
  • significant reduction or elimination of the cleaning process after brazing
  • elimination of the need to use traditional fluxes (using traditional fluxes as support is only necessary in some cases)
